RE: Monitoring stats on Windows

You need to monitor the following...

1. CPU usage (percentage) => 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2 (unit = Percentage)
2. Disk usage (percentage) => (1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6.X (unit = disk used) / 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5.X (unit = disk size)) * 100
3. Memory usage (percentage) => (1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6.X (unit = disk used) / 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5.X (unit = disk size)) * 100

NB: 2 and 3 come from the table hrStorageIndex. Therefore they need the index number (X) for each storage entry.

Example:

My Physical memory is in Row 1 of the table hrStorageIndex

.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.3.1 = STRING: Physical memory

So I poll...

.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6.1 = INTEGER: 999256
And
.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5.1 = INTEGER: 1022188

And calculate as above.

My root partition (C: drive on windows) is Row 31...
.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.3.31 = STRING: /

So I poll...
.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6.31 = INTEGER: 1380469
And
.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5.31 = INTEGER: 16672164

And calculate as above.

Please remember the row number will be different for each system. DO NOT USE MY ROW NUMBERS.

I am not planning to use cacti.
I am planning to access the windows server using nagios plugin.

The nagios plugin is "check_snmp". This uses the snmpp get command to access to the agent.
