walk on .1 is hanging

Hi ALL,
   I have installed Net-Snmp - 5.1.2 agent in my fedora core 7 machine. It works fine for all my MIB objects.
But when i do snmwalk on my system as "snmpwalk -v2c -c public localhost .1"; it timeouts at IF:MIB.
     When i do same walk on my machine which has net-snmp-5.4.1 it works properly.

what is the problem with 5.1.2 ?

The only way I can use snmpd is by restarting the machine only.  My machine is linux fedora core 7 kernel 2.6.21.I will appreciate any help.TIA
