help with rpm

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I'm trying to build an rpm of the net-snmp package that includes some special scripts and likewise. I've got my buildroot setup properly. I've got the spec working on as4 but am having an issue on as3 and not sure where to turn. When I try to install net-snmp on the as3 box I see the following in the logs: libtool: install: error: cannot install `libnetsnmpagent.la' to a directory not ending in /usr/local/lib installing libnetsnmpagent.la in /tmp/net-snmp-root/opt/net-snmp//lib libtool: install: error: cannot install `libnetsnmphelpers.la' to a directory not ending in /usr/local/lib installing libnetsnmphelpers.la in /tmp/net-snmp-root/opt/net-snmp//lib So therefore the libnetsnmpagent.so file never gets created and doesn't get included with the rpm. If I run the same configure/make/make install in the shell it works fine. Any ideas? I mean I'm tempted to just include the libraries in the buildroot at make install time. I know that will work just wanted to see if there was a "right" way.
