My mistake, I meant using snmptrapd in RESPONDING to query, is it workable ? To get a quesry response, you MUST use snmpd. Since you're working on embedded Linux, I suggest you search this list for "embedded linux", which will give you some tips, including the fact that things may get a little painful.
