Hi Thomas, I've tried the way you mentioned and failed. I got unknown user error. Further observation showed that after inovokattion, the createuser entry in /var/lib/snmp/snmpd.conf was "substituted by this line, setserialno 168361985, only. No usmUser line was generated. My /%PATH/var-net-snmp/snmpd.conf still has the entry of "rwuser user1" and my /usr/lcal/share/snmp/snmpd.conf is blank. Is it possible that my "%PATH/var-net-snmp/snmpd.conf" is causing the problem? thx Steve ________________________________ From: Thomas Anders <[email protected]> To: Steve Miller <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, November 5, 2008 2:30:46 PM Subject: Re: snmpv3 "createuser" usage Steve Miller wrote: > I am trying to access the agent via snmpv3. It will be *substituted* by the corresponding usmUser line. +Thomas ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Net-snmp-users mailing list [email protected] Please see the following page to unsubscribe or change other options: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/net-snmp-users
