Tunning SNMP Agent's Status Update Time

Hi all, Is there a way in order to tune net-snmp agent's status update time? I've been doing some tests lately using two PCs, both running net-snmp version 5.4.1., and realized that net-snmp agent presents some update delays. I have both PCs connected together and then I simulated an interface failure in PC1. Then on PC2 I poll PC1 interfaces table by doing an snmpwalk. In order to get the correct status of the interface brought down, I have to issue the snmpwalk between 4-5 times. How often does the snmp agent update its tables? Can it be adjusted this status update timer?
