Maybe the port is already in use. Have you checked with netstat before running snmptrapd? Does the error appear without specifying udp6?

Subject: Question about snmptrapd to bind the same port for IPv4 and IPv6

  Hi,

I have problem to run the snmptrapd from Net-Snmp 5.4.2.1 when I tried to bind the same port for IPv4 and IPv6. I built it using --disable-agent and --enable-ipv6.

  snmptrapd udp:165,udp6:165

It shows “Address already in use”.

  Any one has clue?

  Thanks,

  Hui
