Hi All, I am a net-snmp beginner. I am trying to learn how to retrieve information from net-snmp agent using net-snmp C Library. I downloaded snmpdemoapp.c demo program from http://www.net-snmp.org/wiki/index.php/TUT:Simple_Application The program compiled and ran successfully with slight modification such as setting the peer hostname to my local node. I then proceeded to modify the OID to "1.3.6.1.2.1.25.4.2.1.2" which is "HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSWRunName". When I ran the program, it shows "value #1 is NOT a string! Ack!". I am lost because there's not alot of information I can find regarding net-snmp programming. What I am trying to do is retrieve a list of running processes. Can anyone in here give me some advice on how to modify the example test application correctly? Thanks!
