Please read my message more carefully.
I asked about "/var/agentx",  not "/var/agnetx"

OK - so the agent is not creating the socket.

<sigh>
Please *think* about what you are doing.
And show some care about following my instructions.

The problem is related to AgentX support,
and I asked you to turn on the 'agentx' debugging token.

  'agentx'  - not 'agnetx'

It's not surprising that you don't get any useful information
if you're using a bogus debug token.

Can you please try the following:

    #   snmpd -f -Le -Dagentx
        <save the output>
    ^C
    #   mkdir  /var/agentx
    #   snmpd -f -Le -Dagentx
        <save the output>
    ^C

Then post the two sets of debug output.

Hmmm...
that looks suspiciously as if the agent does not include AgentX support at all.

What does "net-snmp-config --configure-options"  report?
What about "net-snmp-config --snmpd-module-list" ?

Did you compile this from source, or is it a pre-compiled binary?
