Re: How do you generate a USM localized key?

I tried that and it worked, but it's very awkward to automate - the only
way I could find to generate the usmUser record from a createUser record
was to run snmpd, but since I use snmpd to monitor all my machines, I've
already got an snmpd running on the machine and the two snmpds interfere
with each other. Then I've got kill the snmpd, but only after it's
created the usmUser record, and finally I've got to parse the persistent
snmpd.conf to extract the localized key.

Since createUser explicitly offers the ability to use a localized (or
master - what is that?) key, I presumed there was a relatively simple
way to generate them, but I can't find any documentation on the subject
other than the few lines on createUser.
