I'm sorry, but that's not really a lot of help. "tried various things" is so vague as to be useless. We'd need to know the *exact* initialisation code that you're using. I'd suggest you start with the core of the snmpd.c main() routine, namely: init_agent() init_mib_modules() init_snmp() init_master_agent() and work from there.
