It should work fine, yes. The Net-SNMP suite just uses the openSSL library to implement SHA1 authentication, and DES/AES encryption. As long as the OpenSSL library includes this support, it should work OK. You'd need to talk to the OpenSSL people to check when this support first arrived, but I strongly suspect that it was relatively early in their development process. I can't see that you would have a problem with any half-way-recent version. But suck it and see.
