Query on new mib implementation.

All,
Iam new to snmp and trying to implement a new mib get /set which will have OID say for example "WanIPaddress" .Will I be able to directly make use of If-MIB implementation ? Is there a better approach so that I can avoid replicating the same code.Pls suggest some good approach.
