Well, the most obvious thing to try would be to upgrade to a less ancient version of the SNMP agent. 5.1.2 is over 5 years old now, and support for the 5.1.x line was dropped in early 2006. Alternatively, if you don't actually need to use the Host Resources information, then you could try configuring the access control settings to omit this from the visible tree. What are the current access control directives in your snmpd.conf file?
