Hi, I also faced the same problem in Fedora core 6. and solved it by setting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH as follows export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib As it is just a matter of setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH, I think it should work witha ll Unix based systems.
