I am trying to run net-snmp on an embedded system using Linux.
I am able to compile, cross compile, link and run net-snmp. I am able to
call agent_check_and_process(0) and verified that this function runs as
I put a temporary printf in it and each time it is called I am able to
see the output of the printf.

I also verified that snmp is attached to the udp port in the system - as
reported by netstat -a.

The problem is that no packets are being processed. I also verified that
the count returned in count = select(numfds, &fdset, NULL, NULL, tvp);
is always 0.

I know the system is capable of receiving packets because I am able to
get it working with a different version of the library files.
Unfortunately I did not create the original version of the library files
so I do not know what it is that makes them work verses what it is that
makes the ones that I created fail.

I am using the following configure statement to configure net-snmp.
sh ./configure --target=x86-linux --host=x86-linux2
--with-ccp=/opt/wrs2/wrlinux-2.0/sysroots/wrs_sbc8548-glibc_cgl/x86-linu
x2/
--with-cc=/opt/wrs2/wrlinux-2.0/sysroots/wrs_sbc8548-glibc_cgl/x86-linux
2/powerpc-wrs-linux-gnu-ppc_e500v2-glibc_cgl-gcc
--with-ld=cc=/opt/wrs2/wrlinux-2.0/sysroots/wrs_sbc8548-glibc_cgl/x86-li
nux2/powerpc-wrs-linux-gnu-ppc_e500v2-glibc_cgl-ld
--with-transports=UDP --with-endianness=big   -enable-debugging
--enable-ucd-snmp-compatibility
--with-persistent-directory="/mnt/local/snmp3"  --without-perl-modules
--disable-embedded-perl
--with-mib-modules="mibII,mibII/tcp,mibII/udp,mibII/icmp"
--with-mib-modules="mibII tcp-mib udp-mib ucd_snmp"
Then I run
make prefix=/mnt/local/snmp3 exec_prefix=/mnt/local/joanl/snmp3
target=x86-linux
make install prefix=/mnt/local/snmp3 exec_prefix=/mnt/local/snmp3
target=x86-linux

Which creates the library files that I ftp to my unit and run with.

Any ideas on what could cause packets not to be received via the select
cmd would be greately appreciated.
