	Any instance of net-snmp is v1/v2c/v3, but can be configured to accept only one of them.  Specifically, it does not requiree two instances to handle v1 and v2c, and, in fact, those two instances will be serving *different* information, even if most of that information is retrieved the same way.

	Any number of net-snmp instances can coexist, subject to resource limitations, but each instance must be compiled separately so that all paths are different.  Be sure to inspect the putput of `configure --help` carefully to ensure that you have changed all paths for each instance - just changing --prefix is not enough!
