Adding support for DS1 port details

Hi,
I have already posted this as a non member, now trying to post as a member of this list.
We are trying to provide the DS1 port details as part of the standard MIB. I was planning to extend the ifTable implementation to support for DS1 ports aswell.
Initially I tried excluding the ifTable from the makefile, but got errors stating the dependencies on "ip" module etc..
How can I achieve this, can we exclude the ifTable at runtime? and extend the functionality to support DS1?
