Hi,

I'm trying to monitor an SLES 11 system. I had earlier compiled and installed net-snmp 5.4.2.1 from the tar files.. this was however not working . and i wansn't able to run the command 'make unistall '

so i installed it using yast. removed it and reinstalled it.

but am still having the same problem...

this system can snmpwalk any other system but cannot walk itself

linux-flav:~ # snmpwalk -v2c -c public 172.16.10.55 system

Timeout: No Response from 172.16.10.55

linux-flav:~ # snmpwalk -v2c -c public 127.0.0.1 system

Timeout: No Response from 127.0.0.1

i cannot snmpwalk it from any other system either

am also getting the following errors

linux-flav:~ # /etc/init.d/snmpd restart

Shutting down snmpd: done

Starting snmpd done

linux-flav:~ # /usr/sbin/snmpd: symbol lookup error: /usr/sbin/snmpd: undefined symbol: smux_listen_sd

linux-flav:~ # /etc/init.d/snmpd restart

Shutting down snmpd: done

Starting snmpd/usr/sbin/snmpd: symbol lookup error: /usr/sbin/snmpd: undefined symbol: smux_listen_sd
