How to get snmpd to use a specific address to send traps?

This was discussed back in 2005 and apparently the supporting code was actually done in 2003, but I am still having trouble today. snmptrap obeys "clientaddr" but it appears that snmpd does not. Am I missing something? I'm using net-snmp 5.4.2.1. -- Mark H.
