Did you configure a UDP AgentX listener? AgentX by default listens on a unix domain socket for unix class hosts and TCP port 705 for Windows hosts. Did you perhaps set up a proxy for the subagent's domain or a parent in snmpd.conf? I don't believe a subagent would override that.
