problem with snmpd

Hi,
I have observed the following problem with snmpd (net-snmp version 5.4.2).

I am running two sub-agents and snmpd on my system.
After a few days of running correctly, the sub-agents stop responding (to snmpget requests).
On restarting snmpd only, the sub-agents start responding again.

Is such a problem known to exist with snmpd?
Or, does this indicate that something is wrong with the sub-agents?

Any thoughts on this is much appreciated.
