Ok, I knew my grasp was weak to begin with, but I read over some docs and
now I understand this. As far as I understand so far, SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTraps.6
is suitable for me to leverage to send non vendor specific info that any
commercial device/software won't also be sending so long as the MIB objects
used are unique to me. There's the catch. What I tried to look for was
something generic that could be site specific so at least by spec, shouldn't
be utilized outside my company. Does anything like this exist? My Perl script
filters on the text itself, so I can choose what oid to actually even start
looking at.

Given the scope of my need, it hardly warrants investing the time to register
a space, then write a MIB object...
