I have noticed a behavior difference between two different versions of the snmptrap command but I could not find anything documenting the change in behavior in the change notes and I wanted to verify if this was a bug fix that changed the behavior. The issue has to do with sending a SNMP v1 trap with or without a '.' At the beginning of the enterprise OID in the command line option. Using verison UCD-snmp version: 4.2.5 sending an SNMP trap with an enterprise OID of 1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0 results in a trap being sent (according to a wireshark capture) with an OID of 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0 but if the enterprise OID is send as .1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0 (note the '.' At the front of the OID) then the trap is sent with an OID of 1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0. Using version NET-SNMP version 5.3.2.2 sending an SNMP trap with an enterprise OID of 1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0 results in a trap being sent (according to a wireshark capture) with an OID of 1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0 but if the enterprise OID is send as .1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0 (note the '.' At the front of the OID) then the trap is sent with an OID of 1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0. Any assistance with be a big help, Mark ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by Make an app they can't live without Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge http://p.sf.net/sfu/RIM-dev2dev _______________________________________________ Net-snmp-users mailing list [email protected] Please see the following page to unsubscribe or change other options: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/net-snmp-users
