Using version NET-SNMP version 5.3.2.2 sending an SNMP trap with an enterprise OID of 1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0 results in a trap being sent (according to a wireshark capture) with an OID of 1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0 but if the enterprise OID is send as .1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0 (note the '.' At the front of the OID) then the trap is sent with an OID of 1.3.6.1.4.1.789.0.86.0. Net-SNMP ignores the leading '.'s when reading an OID. The original CMU code that we derive from (prior to the UCD code) required you to put in the leading dot and it was inconsistent when a dot was required, when it was not required and what it meant. You must specify the full oid for an enterprise now. -- Wes Hardaker Cobham Analytic Solutions ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by Make an app they can't live without Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge http://p.sf.net/sfu/RIM-dev2dev _______________________________________________ Net-snmp-users mailing list [email protected] Please see the following page to unsubscribe or change other options: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/net-snmp-users
