Hello,

I am trying to get SNMPv3 traps received in snmptrapd.exe on Net-SNMP
5.4.1.2. I am using
snmptrap to send the trap.

The following is my snmptrapd.conf:

authCommunity log public
doNotLogTraps false
doNotFork yes
agentxsocket tcp:127.0.0.1:705
createUser -e 0x80001F8804307830313032303330343035 david MD5 mypassword
createUser -e 0x80001F8804307830313032303330343035 taylor MD5 mypassword
createUser myuser MD5 mypassword
createUser -e 0x0102030405 bubba MD5 mypassword DES myotherpassword

The snmptrapd command line is: snmptrapd.exe -c snmptrapd.conf -d -L o -L f
output.txt -D "usm"

Which prints out the following:
registered debug token usm, 1
usmUser: created a new user david at 80 00 1F 88 04 30 78 30 31 30 32 30 33

I send the snmptrap for version 2c:
snmptrap -c public -v 2c 127.0.0.1 42 1.3.6.1.4.1.8888.88.1.9

The snmptrapd output to this snmptrap is:

This is good.

Now, I send a snmptrap for version 3:

usm: USM processing begun...
usm: match on user david
usm: Verification succeeded.
usm: USM processing completed.

This is not being successful. I believe that is failing with something to do
with the view access control, but
am not sure.

Does anyone see anything that I am doing wrong?

Thanks,
David
