I'd expect this to display "Counter64", since that's the underlying data type. "CounterBasedGauge64" is simply a Textual Convention, to amend the expected behaviour of such objects. It's not really a separate type, so the low-level SNMP library doesn't know anything about it. Such varbinds will be treated as the underlying type - i.e. Counter64 That would be my expectation, anyway.
