Hi Dave,
        thanks for help,
I am able to configure with openssl but as you pointed I am getting following error:

me/symbol/net-snmp-5.5/sanjay/lib
../../snmplib/.libs/libnetsnmp.so: undefined reference to `dlsym'
../../snmplib/.libs/libnetsnmp.so: undefined reference to `dlerror'
../../snmplib/.libs/libnetsnmp.so: undefined reference to `dladdr'
../../snmplib/.libs/libnetsnmp.so: undefined reference to `dlopen'
../../snmplib/.libs/libnetsnmp.so: undefined reference to `dlclose'

Thanks,
Sanjay

Hmmmm....
Checking the logs, it looks as if the test that checks for the SSL library is failing.
It *does* actually find this library, but then fails with the errors
    undefined reference to `dlopen'
    undefined reference to `dlsym'
    undefined reference to `dlclose'

(i.e. nothing related to OpenSSL at all!)

I'm not exactly sure how best to solve this, but as a starting point, can you try the following:

[Those of a nervous disposition may wish to look away now....]

   edit the file 'configure'
   Search for the string "checking for EVP_md5 in -lcrypto"
       (about 2/3 of the way through the file)

   Half-a-dozen lines later is the line:

       LIBS="-lcrypto  $LIBS"

Change this to read

       LIBS="-ldl  -lcrypto  $LIBS"

and then re-run configure.
Does this pick up the OpenSSL libraries or not?

Dave
