SNMP V2C trap question

I am using the latest version of net-snmp as of Jan 2011 on a WinXP machine.
I am running the snmptrapd program with the intention of monitoring all
traps coming from a device on a private network. I simply want to see them
get printed to standard out. Wireshark indicates that the traps coming from
the device I am monitoring are V2C traps. The problem is that the net-snmp
snmptrapd code keeps looking for the snmpTrapOID. This OID isn't present in
the traps I am receiving. I see the SysUpTime OID then a number of
enterprise specific OIDs in each trap I receive. I keep seeing errors
printed out to the console window that all can be traced back in the
snmptrapd code to not being able to find the snmpTrapOID. What am I doing
wrong? Is this OID supposed to be part of a V2C trap? Does this mean the
device I am monitoring have a problem. Is it my configuration file settings
for snmptrapd?
