Adding to the previous thread. You will have to set env variables as well.

After setup (if made from source on Linux) execute 'ldconfig' on terminal.

Also, check if /usr/local/snmp/mibs/ have MIB's shipped with net-snmp source
package.

Will like to help you installing net-snmp if you are installing on Linux and
from source tarball.
