Netsnmp is provided by debian 6 apt package manager.

I managed to make it work some days before, both net-snmp and cacti graphs. Simply changing the agentuser from snmp(a user added by apt when installing net-snmp) to root fixed it, though not a good idea.

This may not a problem with debian because I tested same configuration with a VPS running same distribution.

Cacti is running on the same computer with net-snmp. I hope the following information helps: (I temporarily changed agentuser back to snmp and restarted snmpd)
