I have followed all the appropriate and usual build steps from the latest git of net-snmpd. I made myself some conf files and put them in suitable places (I hope). But for the life of me I can't find any instructions on creating and installing /etc/init.d/snmpd and telling Linux that this new snmpd thing exists and should be treated as a service. Could someone give me directions or even a couple of pointers to where this is in the tutorials.
