I would also *strongly* suggest that you spend some time using SNMP
and getting used to the way it works, the structure and design of existing
MIBs, and the general ethos of the SNMP way of working - *BEFORE*
charging into advanced techniques such as designing your own MIB.

Even experienced SNMP developers sometimes struggle to get this
right.  (If you really want to embarrass a certain project leader who shall
remain nameless,  take a critical look at the original definitinos of the
earliest MIBs from this project).
    I'm constantly amazed at how many people who don't know SNMP
at all,  want to rush straight in and design a new MIB from scratch.

If someone's only just passed their driving test, they wouldn't expect to
take part in a cross country rally, or successfully drive a Formula1 car.
Why assume that they can immediately design & implement a MIB?
