Hello, I am configuring net-snmp, I am on CentOS rpm and therefore on net-snmp V 5.5.4. I assumed that if I made createUser lines in /var/lib/net-snmp/snmpd.conf and these users were pulled in and hashed, that then I could use trapsess lines and use the same user, and net-snmp would pull these users and find their hashed passwords. No it seems that the createUser lines have nothing to do with traps. So I created the trapsess line with user, auth type, auth pass... and it works, but these passwords are in clear text. I see there is a -3M parameter option to trapsess (and snmptrap), but how do I hash the passwords to make them correct for that parameter? I cannot find that detail anywhere.
