This bug is not available to the public.

This page returns a 500 error when I visit it; since Google has it indexed
presumably that is because I am not logged in with a red hat account with
sufficient permission.

which is relevant to this behavior and got fixed as part of

There is nothing immediately obvious in that rpm's changelog or in any of
the patches. (Obviously I just did a few greps and didn't read all 50k
lines of patches.)

We are not sure bug is ported to the release we are using or the bug fix

Note that the "5.4.1-5.2" release you report is not a net-snmp project
release number; it appears to be a Mandriva release. The net-snmp project
has no influence over what additional patches vendors like Redhat or
Mandriva include.

Please help us to understand the present version we use has the fix

I recommend building a supported version yourself, like 5.7.2.1 or 5.4.4.
If that version still shows the issue, then file a bug at
http://www.net-snmp.org/bugs/ , preferably with more information about how
you generated the packet with the bad serialization.
