snmpd start/stop

Hi all,

I'm having trouble adding snmpd to the services.

I've cloned and make/make installed from the master branch of the
sourceforge re
> git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/net-snmp/code snmp

I initially tried running sudo service snmpd start, which returns nothing:
> sudo service snmpd start
snmpd: unrecognized service

I've tried running chkconfig --add snmpd but I get:
> chkconfig --add snmpd
error reading information on service snmpd: No such file or directory

I copied over the script from /etc/rc.d/init.d/snmpd to /etc/init.d/snmpd
and chkconfig was able to add snmpd successfully, however when I run the
service command it doesn't seem to do anything:
> service snmpd start
> ps aux | grep snmpd
root      8616  0.0  0.0 103252   860 pts/16   S+   13:05   0:00 grep snmpd

Is there something I'm missing?
