MIB search path

Hi,

When using snmpinform, I get the messages:

SNMPInform failed: MIB search path: /root/.snmp/mibs:/usr/share/snmp/mibs

Where are these MIB search paths defined?

When I issue:
# net-snmp-config --default-mibdirs
/home/root/.snmp/mibs:/usr/share/snmp/mibs

So it should look for:
 /home/root/.snmp/mibs  but instead it looks for /root/.snmp/mibs.

Also,
# echo $HOME
/home/root

Why are the applications looking for the MIB in the wrong path ?
