Dear community,

I have two questions concerning net-snmp:

1. I have tested the subagent for snmp according to the tutorial subagent:

https://net-snmp.sourceforge.io/wiki/index.php/TUT:Writing_a_Subagent

Using the subagent mysubagent works fine, but the subagent within an own application, the example example-demon does not work correctly.

It can be compiled and started using ./example-demon.

When I am asking

snmpget localhost -v2c -c public NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB::nstAgentSubagentObject.0

It returns

NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB::nstAgentSubagentObject.0 = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID

and the sub agent process example-demon is killed. What is the problem here?

(I'm using the same snmpd.conf file...)

2. Is it necessary to have an own data base for the OID values? Will they survive a reboot of my device? Where are they stored?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Regina
