Hello all
I am seeing this timeout problem with netsaint 0.0.7 check_http plugin.
Tried changing the timeout to 20,30,40 and no luck. Every few hours, it
starts to get this error. As mentioned below, I did not see this in previous
versions. Also, this check is for an Alteon LB. The same checks going
directly to the web server work just fine. When I try the same checks on the
same IP from netsaint 0.0.6 it works fine for extended periods, but still
gets the same error once in a great while.

If anyone has figured out how to handle this or the cause of it, I'd
appreciate the help.

Thanks
alex

 Hi Volker,

Which plugin is it exactly ?
Have you tried the plugin from the command line ?
Do you have simular results ?
May-be there is really something wrong with the network. Check traffic,
 collisions, etc ...

 Kind regards,

 Hi folks,

we have the following problem with NetSaint 0.0.7
and plugins 1.2.9-4 on a SuSE 7.3 system installed
 from source.

We have only 4 serive checks definened entirely
with a check interval of five minutes with five max
retries. All service checks have sometimes the state:
 Socket timeout after 10 seconds
 or
Plugin timed out after 10 seconds

The second one appears seldom. The first state
sometimes appeares in a row more then 3 times. This
is why we sized max retries to 5. Until now this
has prevented a hard state change which would report
 a problem.

There are several hours in a row everything is working
fine, then several (perhaps only one) hours the problem
occurs. Then it disappears several hours ... and so on

1 year ago, I've installed NetSaint 0.0.6 with the
same plugins version elsewhere and no such problems
 occurs.

Perhaps this is a common Problem with NetSaint 0.0.7?
