change the notification_interval to zero. This will tell Netsaint do "not
re-notify contacts about problems for this host - only one problem
notification will be sent out."

this from:

http://www.netsaint.org/docs/0_0_7/confighost.html

host[<host_name>]=<host_alias>;<address>;<parent_hosts>;<host_check_command>
;<max_attempts>;<notification_interval>;<notification_period>;<notify_recove
ry>;<notify_down>;<notify_unreachable>;<event_handler>

Subject: [netsaint] mail problem

Hi,

After configuring the netsaint properly mails are coming, but
too many mails are delivered even though there is no change in the
status of the host. For example, the host 192.168.100.1 has been
stated as down in the first mail is reported again in the second and so
on ( ie. all the mails at an interval of 5 minutes alerting as the host
down) . Please provide me a solution where I should get a mail only on
the event of status change. Suppose a host, which is already stated to
be unreachable/down , comes up then a mail should be initiated
otherwise the message in the first mail holds good.

Thanks
Pramod
