Scott...have you looked at nsclient?

Let me know if you have problems on writing up some commands for checking services. Nsclient is a very good plugin and props to the developer.

Subject: [netsaint] Help Monitoring NT-based services

We have Netsaint running on a Linux box and want to monitor some services
on some NT-based servers.

I'm having problems finding the right configuration to add to our existing
config to permit it to monitor some services on an NT server (I'm the
primary Windows admin who does have some Linux knowledge). I want to
particularly monitor the shared printing service, which nmap reports as
port 515 tcp, as well as the service itself (should it fail) to get
notified the service is down.

Thanks for any help

Scott
