Dear friends, We are using Netsaint in a production network environment with around 1500 services (2 minutes check interval). We are using a distributed monitoring topology. We are experiencing problems in the central server (RedHat Linux 7.2 with kernel 2.4.7-10 SMP) regarding the high number of netsaint process. In the source code the routine process_passive_service_checks(); create son process that by it self create a grandson process and the son process dies. The grandson process has a loopback routine called write_svc_message(); that writes in an internal pipe file. The result is a lot of grandson process that dispute this pipe file blocking it and don't allowing any other process to use it. After some while Netsaint crashes. Does someone know a workaround for this problem or have any suggestion to solve this dispute problem ? Fabricio Nunes Monte Network Analyst - Network Area .comDominio Ltda.
