hi all i would like to know if any of you have ever used the sun managmente agent version 3.0 in order to use their snmp calls in netsaint. In fact as for the compaq server i use the compaq managment snmp agents in order to verify the compaq hardware using snmp and netsaint, now i would like to build something similar using a sun architecture. So i think that i need to install on my sun some snmp agent in order to do that.....and i discover two..... 1) is the "sun managment center agent" 3.0 that is free downlodable 2) is the hp openview snmp agent for sun ....not free :) So i tried to install the 1st one but.....i got some problems.... first of all it seems that i need the whole sun managmente center installed on my network and second seems that the agent uses a "seed" in order to "speak" with the managment server, that make any standard snmp request to that agent incompatible..... So i need to know....if any of you have ever tried this before....and also if you know another way in order to check hard disk, array, mem, cpu use, partiotion, process...etc... on a sun enviroment...
