that of course you are correct.

I have confirmed your results on another platform (no proxy).

I don't think however that it is caused by the extra CRLF pair.

What I suggest is you pace it through gdb like so

gdb check_http
set args -H www.LiveTechnology.COM
b recv
r
s .. until it breaks

and post the results.

Unfortunately, I can't do so at the moment
