Have a look to 'smash'. Requires a modem. Sms's are directly dropped in an
smsc centre, once dropped they are delivered within 2-3 seconds. During one
connection multiple sms's can be dropped.
A local provider that accept messages is necessary. this is country
dependend.

Ive just installed SMS_Client and have netsaint using it as an external
command.
 
Only 1 out of every 5 sms messages gets through - in the log though I get
connected to Cellnet sometimes and sometimes I don't.
 
Is anyone using anything better than sms_client to alert people as it seems
pretty unreliable
