nrpe problems

Hello List!

I have problems with netsaint-nrpe-plugin.
I am using netsaint-0.0.7 under debian woody, nrpe-server-1.2.4,
netsaint-nrpe-plugin-1.2.4.
Sometimes nrpe works OK, sometimes not.
In fact its behavior is unpredictable.
The most frequent response from netsaint-nrpe-plugin is the following:
CHECK_NRPE: Receive underflow. Only 948 bytes received (1040 expected).
Also I receive:
CHECK_NRPE: Received 0 bytes. Is this host authorized to connect with
nrpe daemon?
When I enable debug in the nrpe.cfg I can see no problem in the syslog. But
in the same time nrpe-plugin gives me UNKNOWN state.

I tried both set nrpe up like a daemon and starting from inetd without
difference.
And it (mis)works the same way from the command line and from netsaint.

What could be the problem?
