Revisiting NT service monitoring

Several months ago I posted a question to the list, with some background.

I'll repeat the info here since I didn't get the full answer I sought.

We have a Linux box running Netsaint, and an NT 4 Advanced Server Primary
Domain Controller which primarly serves printers to the Windows and
Macintosh community and acts as a software installation repository.  It
has nsclient installed and running as a service, though I don't know what
version the client is.

I'm looking for the exact Netsaint syntax for the Linux side to query the
NT Spooler Service so we can be paged if the service on the NT server
dies.  I know port 445/tcp is for Windows File and Print Sharing, but that
doesn't say anything about the status of the spooler service.

We also have an Appletalk network with Services for Macintosh installed,
and are running Service Pack 6a with the latest patches.   This also means
Print Service for Macintosh is running, if that makes any difference.
