RE: Revisiting NT service monitoring

The "All services are running" line actually refers to *just* the spooler
service, in this context.  Translation: "all services [named spooler] are
running."

Have you tried stopping the spooler service yourself, then watching netsaint
to see what it reports?  Maybe you've got a problem with your notification
setup.  Next, what is your interval set to, for checking the spooler
service?  Again, I'm using Nagios now, so this probably doesn't apply, but
the place to find the check intervals is in the services.cfg file.  Each
host service entry has an entry for check interval (unless you've specified
it in a template).

Almost there.

We just had the service die on us again with no warning.

Here is the response from your line in our production environment:

./check_nt -H our_nt_server -v SERVICESTATE -l spooler
All services are running


Well, some services are not running, and I want to specifically target 
the status of the spooler service.   Continued searches through 
groups.google and www.google turn up nothing.  The Netsaint 
documentation doesn't help, either, unless I'm looking in the wrong 
place (not the first time!).

Any additional help (from anyone) would be appreciated.
