notification troubles

I've had netsaint/nagios set up for about 2 years now, and am just starting to have some problems with it not delaying service and/or host notifications. The log file reports the command processing successfully, but we keep getting notifications when we shouldn't be. Here's the log excerpt: [1055545097] EXTERNAL COMMAND: DELAY_SVC_NOTIFICATION;sloth;raid;1055631497 I've got retention turned on for everything, but it seems to be either forgetting or ignoring the delays.
