Just to let you all know, the alarm patch I had mentioned earlier

haven't worked to fix the *uninitialized value* problem. I still see the
same error messages.
As I had said earlier, I am no good with Perl, but would be happy to
test patches if anyone has any ideas. I do agree with Scott that the
error seems to get initiated in the accept_client subroutine in
Gateway.pm and then propagates to Captive.pm
